MDEGLE gave it's stamp of approval to expand US ECOLOGY NORTH a hazardous waste treatment plant in Detroit on January 20, 2020, after four years of robust community protest. YES WE DID: The City of Detroit adopted the terms that the plant must agree to - the Host Community Agreement (HCA). "No Fracking Waste" Rerouting of trucks away from the neighborhoods nearby Quarterly meetings with the community The Host Community Agreement has a section that the plant can expand or change the kind of waste it takes in with a simple written note 30 days in advance. This will undermine the fight that the community has been waging for so many years.
